At 11.30 in the morning the efectives of the Navarran Police Force have climbed the roof of one of the houses and arrested four people who were resisting up there holding a placard.

With the clear intention of cutting the village off, the spanish Civil Guard has installed two road controls on two nearby cross roads.

Around midday, a huge digging machine has approached from behind one of the houses where a large number of people of our association are resisting the eviction. Apparently the machine has given up the attempt owed to the screams people inside were giving. In spite of being repetitive we have to insist on the fact of the serious danger the people resisting are in and on the great irresponsibility of Mr. Reta, Navarra´s Government representative, who denies to accept the help our mediators offer or talk to our lawyer, these leading to a helpless situation in which resisting people can get seriously hurt.

In the fear of something terrible happening we have contacted humanitarian organitations and institutional groups ( Navarran Gobernment, the ombudsman, sos Navarre, Aoitz´s Court,...) and so far, the only ones to come in person have been the Red Cross and DYA (assistance ambulances) which have been police searched at the control before the village.

. The lack of receptivity the rest of the organisations have shown ist quite unacceptable in such grave moments.

Two local barns have been demolished.

By 12:30 midday 8 people have already been arrested by the navarran police.

Also and with the help of sledgehammers and chainsaws, they have attempted to break into one of the houses where people are resisting. Inside people are chained up to the building´s main doors´ frames and structures so these attempts involve serious risks of hurting the people inside.

Txentxo Jimenez member of Parliament for Aralar (a Basque political force), has also come in person to Itoitz.

The demolishing company ist Perez del Río, their head office is in Castejón, being this the same company that has demolished the Cemeteries in Itoitz and the surrounding villages to evict.
